Uncomfortable Changes is a Christ-centered mentorship program for youth ages 12–18. We meet for in-person mentorship game nights that create a fun, welcoming space for real conversations rooted in God's word. Our goal is to help young people grow in their faith, character, and confidence — by teaching them to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

The program kicks off the first weekend of July 2026. Session dates and frequency are communicated directly to enrolled families via email. Check your inbox once your enrollment is confirmed for full schedule details.

Every session is a mentorship game night. We start with fun — games, team activities, food and snacks — and weave in scripture-based discussion, encouragement, and honest conversation about life, faith, and growing up. Sessions are designed to be engaging, not a lecture. Every young person leaves with a growth challenge to work on before the next session.

Uncomfortable Changes is an independent, faith-based mentorship program — not affiliated with any single church. It is, however, Christ-centered at its core. Scripture is at the center of every lesson, and participants are required to attend church a minimum of two times per month as a condition of enrollment. We welcome youth from any Christian background.

The program is open to youth ages 12–18 (grades 6–12). Enrollment is limited to 50 participants to ensure every young person receives genuine, personal attention from mentors.

Submit an application using the form on our Apply page. You'll provide basic information about yourself and your child — it takes about 5–10 minutes. Applications are free and no payment is required upfront. Once submitted, our coordinator will review your application and reach out within a few business days.

Yes! Please submit a separate application for each child. On the first application, check the box indicating you're enrolling siblings to receive the 20% sibling discount on additional enrollments. Our coordinator will apply the discount to your payment link after acceptance.

Yes. Each additional child from the same household receives 20% off their enrollment fee. Indicate on your application that you're enrolling siblings and our coordinator will apply the discount automatically when sending payment links.

Our coordinators review each application personally. You can expect to hear back within a few business days. Accepted families will receive an email with a secure payment link to complete enrollment and hold their spot.

We offer three flexible plans:

Monthly — $20/month
6 Months — $60 one payment ($10/mo)
Annual — $100/year ($8.33/mo) — Best Value

Program membership fees directly support meals, activities, mentorship events, educational resources, and youth engagement experiences. We will never raise these prices.

Applying is completely free. Payment is only required after your application is reviewed and accepted. Once accepted, you'll receive a secure payment link via email. Paying that link confirms your child's spot in the program.

We use Stripe to process payments securely. All major debit and credit cards are accepted. No Stripe account is required — just click the payment link and enter your card details. You'll receive an automated receipt by email immediately after payment.

Yes. All enrolled participants are required to attend church a minimum of two (2) times per month for the duration of the program. This is a non-negotiable condition of enrollment, rooted in our commitment to grounding every participant in consistent Christian community and worship. Failure to meet this requirement without prior notice to the program coordinator may result in removal from the program without refund.

No. We welcome young people at all stages of their faith journey — whether your child grew up in church or is brand new to faith. Our program is a safe, welcoming environment for curious, open hearts. The only requirement is a genuine willingness to engage and grow.

Food and snacks are provided at every session. Please disclose all food and medical allergies on the application form in detail. This information is kept confidential and shared only with program coordinators and mentors to keep your child safe. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure allergy information is accurate and complete.

All mentors complete a background check prior to working with youth. Our program follows documented safety protocols at every session. You can review the full Mentor Background Check Disclosure and Safety Policy on our Safety & Policies page.

We take the safety of every young person seriously. Our full safety documentation — including the Safety Policy, Code of Conduct, Photo & Media Policy, and Parent/Guardian Agreement Summary — is available on the Safety & Policies page. All parents agree to these policies as part of the enrollment process.

Program staff are authorized to call 911 immediately in the event of a medical emergency, without delay. Staff will attempt to contact parents as quickly as possible. Enrolled families sign a Medical Emergency Authorization as part of the application — you can review the full language on the Apply page (Step 3).
